ABOUT
I am a creative storyteller with experience in writing, directing, producing, assisting, coordinating, designing, editing, and acting. My current focus is content creation, and screenwriting.
Unique to my Bay Area upbringing, I grew up in an entertainment industry household. My parents ran an international distribution company out of our home, eventually amassing a catalog that called for its own office building. Throughout my childhood I was watching content that wasn’t available to other children, and was lucky to have experiences that most adults can’t even share. As I got older, and was no longer going to concerts with my parents, I had to adjust my mindset to knowing I wouldn’t be getting backstage because of professional connections. However, going backstage to meet the talent is the best way to dismantle the glamorous fantasy built around rock ‘n roll. This was one of the many early lessons I learned from from my entertainment industry parents.
During my high school years, I began writing scripts after being grounded for months, as it was my only outlet and became my excuse to hang out with friends as my school had agreed to produce my work as an extra curricular. By the time I graduated, I have written, produced, directed, and starred in two plays, and one student film.
I went on to study at San Francisco State University, where I majored in Cinema, with a focus in Screenwriting, and minored in Theater. In between academics, and learning the basic consequences of adulthood, I was lucky to have amazing internship opportunities. I began in 2013 in LA, interning for 44Blue Productions, where I learned reality television and documentary series production, and later development. In 2014, I interned for my absolute favorite radio show at CBS in San Francisco, The Sarah and Vinnie Show. There I learned broadcasting, live show production, news reporting, and podcast production. The next summer, I was blown away by an opportunity that changed my life - I interned for HBO Nordic and FridayTV in Stockholm, Sweden. This not only impacted my knowledge of the industry, but broadened my perspective of the world. There I learned more about the inner workings of online streaming platforms, and international television development.
Since moving to LA, I have worked as Production and Personal Assistant in multiple capacities, and served as a Project Coordinator to an up-and-coming talent. I was a quarterfinalist in the Finish Line Script Competition, and have recently returned to working on a personal social media content brand I conceptualized in 2017, with a producer, Lexi Williams. Currently, I am a Video Acquisitions Producer for BuzzFeed. To this day, my skillset includes Screenwriting, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom, etc), Final Cut Pro, Final Draft, GarageBand, Google Suite, Social Media, Production Coordination, Travel Coordination, and Art Department.
